WASHINGTON (AP) — Exit polls in Indiana show that about half the
voters say the controversy over the Rev. Jeremiah Wright was an
important factor in their vote.

But preliminary data from those
polls show that the focus on Wright, Barack Obama's former pastor, is
not giving Hillary Rodham Clinton a big advantage. Those who said the
Wright situation influenced their decision are leaning heavily toward
Clinton, while those who dismiss his importance are leaning nearly as
strongly toward Obama.

By Cindy Saine

VOA News

Senator Hillary Clinton's win over Senator
Barack Obama in Pennsylvania has breathed new life into her campaign
and given it a much-needed financial boost. Her campaign says donors
contributed more than $10 million to her bid for the Democratic
nomination in the 24 hours after her victory. VOA Correspondent Cindy
Saine reports from Washington.

Senator Clinton's campaign says the money came
from 100,000 donors, including 80,000 new donors who had not
contributed to her campaign before.

The big cash infusion comes just in time. The Clinton campaign
disclosed April 1 that its debt of $10 million exceeded its cash on
hand of $9 million. On the same day, Senator Obama's campaign
announced that it had more than $40 million in cash in hand, with no
debts. Analysts say Senator Clinton needs the money to be able to
compete in the next two primaries in North Carolina and Indiana in two
weeks. The two candidates have already moved on to Indiana.

Speaking to an outdoor crowd in Indianapolis,
Clinton says she now has the momentum, and presented herself as the new
frontrunner.

"I'm very proud that as of today, I have received more votes by the
people who have voted than anybody else," she said. "And I am proud of
that because it's a very close race, but if you count as I count the
2.3 million people who voted in Michigan and Florida, then we are going
to build on that."

er calculation includes Michigan and Florida, two
states that defied Democratic Party rules to hold their primaries
early, so the Democratic National Committee says the results do not
count and will not yield any delegates for the convention in late
August.

Senator Obama still leads in the all-important number of pledged
delegates to the convention by about 130 delegates, and has won more
states than Senator Clinton.

Speaking to his supporters in New Albany, Indiana, Obama rejected Clinton's new method of measuring voter support.

"There have been a number of different
formulations that the Clinton campaign has been trying to arrive at to
suggest that somehow they're not behind," he said. "I'll leave that up
to you guys. If you want to count them for some abstract measure,
you're free to do so, but you know, the way that the popular vote is
translated is into delegates, that's how these primaries and these
caucuses work."

Both candidates are trying to appeal to the so-called
"superdelegates", close to 800 party officials and elected
representatives who are free to choose the candidate they support.

The Obama campaign says the Democratic race remains
"fundamentally unchanged" after his expected loss in Pennsylvania.
Obama is heavily favored to win in North Carolina, while opinion polls
indicate a very close race in Indiana.

From PeterFpaul.com

In the landmark civil fraud case against Bill Clinton in Los Angeles, where the former President is charged with defrauding a Hollywood dot com millionaire to help Hillary Clinton obtain more than $1.2 million from him for her 2000 Senate campaign, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aurelio Munoz ruled on Friday, April 25 that Hillary Clinton would not be required to testify in a sworn deposition as a material witness in the case until AFTER the November election!

While Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Al Gore, Ed Rendell, Barabara Streisand, Cher, Stan Lee, Brad Pitt, Mike Wallace, Larry King et al may be called to testify and be deposed starting in May, Hillary alone has been protected from explaining her role in her husband’s fraud charges.

In an astonishing ruling by the Judge, Hillary Clinton may NOT be deposed about her role in the illegal solicitation and cover up of the largest contribution made to her Senate campaign until after the presidential election. This is the same contribution Hillary denied knowing about or receiving when Lloyd Grove of the Washington Post asked her specifically about it and her relationship with the donor, Peter Paul, in August 2000. Its the same contribution her finance director David Rosen was criminally tried in May, 2005, or hiding from her and her campaign. Its the same contribution the FEC fined her campaign for hiding from the voters in three false FEC reports by her treasurer between 2000-2006.
Diplomatic Norms vs Clinton Rhetoric - We will nuke you.

Over centuries diplomatic norms have been established to maintain the peace.

Don't assassinate leaders of another country.

Leaders have followers and by assassinating a leader of another country, an act of war, the followers of that other country will likely attack you.

The Bush administration did not assassinate Saddam, they turned him over to leaders in Iraq to judge him.

Do not attack another country without a declaration of war.

Again if you attack another country without a declaration of war, the norm is that the other country will defend itself. Japan attacked the US in Pearl Harbor and it resulted in war. The US was attack on 9/11 and had broad international support to defend itself, OBL declarations were not taken seriously as he was not the leader of a country.

Be careful of rhetoric by leaders, less it may be taken seriously.

Bush made a diplomatic error when he called North Korea and Iraq the axis of evil. In doing so both countries prepared for war with the US.

Hillary's statements about destroying Iran are not likely to create peace in the middle east. If what she said actually took place a billion Muslims would likely support their Muslim brothers who died in Iran. If she becomes the President of the US after making her statements -- the use of a little empathy towards the citizens of Iran would suggest a new cold or hot war. The Iran government needs a scape goat to blame all the problems in their country on; Alas they would have one; They already attempt to blame all of the ills in their country on the US but now they really good propaganda -- "Hillary Clinton is not the friend of the Iraq people! She would like them to be dead! The hardships in Iraq are necessary for the very lives of the Iranian people! Is it not the right of Iranian people to choose how they wish to live!"

In the war in Iraq the US government has been very careful to protect the citizens; aid and money to rebuild has been sent; a failure to make the distinction between innocent people and the government of Iraq who was killing its own innocent people ... would create a nightmare situation. Hillary has not made such a distinction.

Equivelent Iran statement: We will nuke you back, bring it on. Thank God the president of Iran has more common sence than that.

Hat Tip: What Really Happened

Ron Brown, Bill Clinton appointee as Commerce Secretary and a Clinton campaign fund raiser (his son would later plead guilty to money laundering) airplane crashed in Bosnia; nearing the point of
indictments; Ron Brown had publicly stated that he would not go to jail alone. Brown's closest associate, Nolanda Hill, admitted on ABC-TV that Brown was using drugs. Now infamous security
leaks John Huang and Ira Sockowitz were at Ron Brown's Commerce Department at
the times they were leaking classified satellite technology to the Chinese.

when reporter Chris Ruddy learned of the photos and what
they showed. Dr. Cogswell provided copies and Ruddy wrote the first of
several stories detailing the new allegations, which were soon
                       corroborated by Dr. Hause.

Both Dr. Hause and Dr. Cogswell were immediately subjected to a gag order
while Dr. Gormley, who initially insisted that the hole in Ron Brown's
skull did not penetrate to the brain and was therefore not a bullet hole,
was allowed free reign to attack, unchallenged and with impunity, the
prior statements of Drs. Hause and Cogswell.

Despite clear signs that the hole might have been the result of a
gunshot, which would prompt an autopsy, no autopsy was performed. Photos
and X-rays were taken, but later, as has been the case in so many other
of the deaths surrounding this administration.

Did you see that red herring!

From http://www.csun.edu/~dgw61315/fallacies.html#Red%20herring

Red herring. This means exactly what you think it means: introducing irrelevant facts or arguments to distract from the question at hand. For example, "The opposition claims that welfare dependency leads to higher crime rates -- but how are poor people supposed to keep a roof over their heads without our help?" It is perfectly valid to ask this question as part of the broader debate, but to pose it as a response to the argument about welfare leading to crime is fallacious.

It is not fallacious, however, to argue that benefits of one kind may justify incurring costs of another kind. In the example given, concern about providing shelter for the poor would not refute concerns about crime, but one could plausibly argue that a somewhat higher level of crime is a justifiable price given the need to alleviate poverty. This is a debatable point of view, but it is no longer a fallacious one.

The term red herring is sometimes used loosely to refer to any kind of diversionary tactic, such as presenting relatively unimportant arguments that will use up the other debaters' speaking time and distract them from more important issues. This kind of a red herring is a wonderful strategic maneuver with which every debater should be familiar.

Headlines appearing recently:

Clinton accuses Obama of Republican tactics!

Could it be that Obama has plagorized Republicans? Hmmm, it is possible, but if he did or did not Hillary is using "That is a Republican tactic" to dodge the issues.

Q> Did you support going to war with Iraq>

Q> Do you want to raise taxes?

Q> Do you support late term abortion?

Q> Do you love Children?

A> The Bush administration said there were WMD. The Republicans wanted war. It was Bush who said, did, ...

A> The Republicans got us into the Iraq war, they have not provided troops with enough body armer ...

A> Not enough money has been spent to teach children about the risk of having sex without protect ...
